SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake winger Anderson Julio opened his MLS account with a blast in the first half of the season opener.
In the 31st minute of the 2021 opener against Minnesota United Anderson Julio scored the first goal of the year for Real Salt Lake.
The goal came when Julio had the ball in attack position as the ball went to Rubio Rubin. Rubin stumbled at the top of the box, but Julio recovered and shot from about 15 feet from the goal on the far right of the post.
Julio joined the team in the off-season after he was last season Had played 20 games with the Liga MX club Atletico San Luis. Before that, he spent three seasons with LDU, played 109 games and scored 23 goals.
RSL and Julio had contacted him a few years ago before moving to Liga MX. It has been shown that communication between Julio’s team and RSL continued throughout his experience in Mexico.
