Two other Australians have died after suffering from a rare bleeding disorder considered a likely side effect of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine.
One is a 44-year-old Tasmanian man, the other a 48 -year-old female from Victoria.
« Since the launch of the vaccine in Australia, a total of five deaths have been reported from TTS from 6.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, » said the TGA.
The week before Thursday gave there is one new confirmed and three probable cases of TTS related to the vaccine.
TTS – Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome – is a rare occurrence in which severe blood clots with low platelet counts occur.
Has existed to date there were 87 cases of TTS related to the AstraZeneca vaccine – 53 confirmed and 34 likely.
