Scott Mitchell, who married the beloved actress in 2000, will raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK after being named the charity’s ambassador in August.
Mr. Mitchell attended the event back in April 2019 to raise funds for the Dementia Revolution – a campaign by Alzheimer’s Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society and the event’s official charity this year.

Mr Mitchell, who along with his late wife drew attention to the disease they were diagnosed with in 2014, will be running alongside his brother-in-law and nephew Laurence and Harry Alexander.
He said: “I am amazed at the generosity of the people since we lost Barbara. I want to repay this kindness by doing this incredible course one last time.
« I know it won’t be easy, but Barbara will be on my mind as always and push me over the finish line.
« Research is our best hope of overcoming dementia and knowing that I can make a small contribution to making this day happen by supporting the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK means everything to me. »

After Dame Barbara’s death, a donation page set up by Mr Mitchell in her memory raised more than £ 165,000 to Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The couple had visited Downing Street and spoken to Boris Johnson while searching for a better care began.
