An Irish survivor of the November 2015 terrorist attack on the Bataclan Concert Hall in Paris said the incident was « something we live with every day. »

Katie Healy Nolan and her husband David was at the Eagles of Death Metal concert at Bataclan that night and barely escaped with his life – David suffered serious gunshot wounds to his foot.

Ms. Healy Nolan told RTÉs Morning Ireland that the events of that night are something that the couple carries with them.

“It’s hard to believe that it really happened and that this actually happened in our lives. To be honest, I can’t remember the last time it wasn’t mentioned in any form in a conversation between me and my husband.

« We live with that every day and my husband lives with his injuries », she said.

David Nolan has had multiple operations on his injured foot since the attack and, according to his wife, is still suffering from « chronic pain ».

Ms. Healy Nolan told RTÉ that the couple are still lucky to be alive and that her husband’s life was saved by my group of girls from a nearby apartment who helped get him to safety and bandaged his leg until ambulance arrived.

Ms. Healy Nolan described how she was reminded of the incident when she least expected it.

« Sometimes when you’re on a good run, you can get a little too comfortable and then become Reminding you of something very tiny.

“For example, when someone takes a photo with a flash in the corner of a room when you don’t expect it. Things like that, or even the smell of candles on a birthday cake, can be extremely, extremely offensive. Anything that smells of sulfur just brings you back there, « she said.

It comes as 20 people are brought to justice in Paris today for alleging involvement in the jihadist attack on the Bataclan and several other places in Paris of the city on November 13, 2015.

The attacks were the deadliest attacks ever in peacetime France, killing 130 people and injuring hundreds.

When asked how they Feeling the start of the trial this week, Ms. Healy Nolan said it won’t change the past, but it will bring some relief.

« Having some kind of justice done will be a little bit of relief is the only one Way i can put it. I don’t think it’s something that will ever acquit what happened that night, obviously. ”She added that she chose not to think about the men who carried out the Paris attacks have.

« I have no feelings for her. There is no place in my life for hatred or anger towards them.
