WWE has confirmed the news that Bray Wyatt has been fired from the company. The news was broadcast on Twitter tonight, where WWE officially confirmed the news.
Wyatt has not been on the WWE program for a while since the WrestleMania 37 PPV event in Florida.
There were rumors that Bray Wyatt is not happy with The Fiend’s general creative direction, but this contradicts reports that Wyatt plays an important role in his own creativity. « The Fiend » character for Bray Wyatt arguably is one his best work on the WWE main lineup, but his original « cult leader » Wyatt Family personality has also been lauded by fans and critics, especially with hindsight.
There is no news on when Bray was alerted of his release, but we can assume that he is now suspending a 90-day non-compete agreement.
Several former WWE Superstars have signed with AEW, including Malakai Black, who previously also played a dark on-screen character for WWE and NXT. Black was able to appear on AEW earlier than expected due to a typo, meaning he was suspended from competition for 30 days rather than the standard 90 for a main squad superstar.
WWE has reached an agreement on Bray Wyatt’s release. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors. https://t.co/XIsUbaMUZ7 pic.twitter.com/koRuC3w1yr
