Kris Dunn’s inevitable departure from Boston is just around the corner. After the Celtics have been slightly embroiled in trade speculation since arriving in town as part of the Tristan Thompson deal, the Celtics have agreed to send both Dunn and Carsen Edwards to the Memphis Grizzlies, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. In return, Boston striker Juancho Hernangomez receives. The deal also includes an exchange of 2026 second-round picks.
Wojnarowski adds that the deal won’t be formally closed until September 15, « when Dunn and Edwards’ contracts may be aggregated in the trade. » Hernangomez, who checks in at 6 feet 9 inches and 214 pounds, has competed in 257 games during his five-year NBA tenure. He has a career average of 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds, while he shoots 35.1% from the bow. The 25-year-old Spanish native was originally drafted by the Denver Nuggets with the 15th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft.
