CM – Chris Hemsworth honored by the Queen

A Hollywood crush is one of the thousands of Australians whose achievements were recognized on the Queen's Birthday Honor Roll.

Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth tops a list of more than 1,000 Australians to be recognized on the Queen’s Birthday Honor Roll.

The Thor crush was recognized for their significant contributions to the performing arts and their dedication honored as a member of the Order of Australia (AM) for charities.

A total of 1190 Australians were honored, including 63 for their efforts in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic. These recipients will be placed on a new Covid-19 Honor Roll, which will become a permanent and ongoing part of the awards.

Governor General David Hurley said it hoped this year’s edition of the annual honor roll would more closely reflect the diversity of Australia and urged those in a wider network to consider nominating leaders from their own community in the future.

From the long list of award winners, he said, there are « examples of exceptional achievement in almost every imaginable area ».

« I am delighted that this list is the highest ever by the General Division of the Order of. » Australia contains recognized women (44 percent), « said General Hurley.

Outstanding political commentator Peta Credlin has been named Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for her contributions to parliament and politics, policy development and executive function.

On another breakfast television show, entertainment reporter Angela Bishop also received an OAM for her contributions to entertainment journalism.

She has worked in the field since the late 1980s and is currently a co-host of Channel 10 Studio 10, while also serving as an ambassador for the GI Cancer Center a nd Sydney Eisteddfod acts.

Glenn Lazarus can now add OAM to its long list of achievements, with the nation’s Rugby League Hall of Fame star winning premierships at the Canberra Raiders, Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne Storm.

The rugby legend also dived into politics after serving as Senator for Queensland with Clive Palmer’s Palmer United Party and then as an Independent.

Robbie Slater was awarded an OAM for excellent football career after serving for the Australian National League as well as four English Premier League teams including West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers.

He also played in the Belgian and French national leagues and represented Australia 44 times, giving him his status as Hall recipient of Fame by the Football Federation.

Slater also wrote a book, The Hard Way, and has been a commentator on Fox Sports since 2000.

The dual athlete Erin Phillips also received an OAM for her achievements as an Australian football star and international basketball representative.

Phillips played for four different teams in the WNBA in the US and won the 2008 Olympics in Beijing won a silver medal.

In the later years, the star athlete turned her focus to AFLW, in which she was twice named the best player in the league in 2017 and 2019 and was rated twice as the best player on the ground in major finals.

The Governor of South Australia, Frances Adamson, has been recognized as Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for outstanding service to public administration in promoting the diplomatic, commercial and cultural interests of Australia.
