Police are investigating a series of explosions in Northcote, Ivanhoe and East Kew overnight which destroyed trash cans and mailboxes.
Tim Holdsworth of Northcote said he heard a « deep guttural blow » at around 8:15 pm on Sunday evening and found a tattered trash can at the end of his street.
« [ The trash can] was just in tatters on the sidewalk with bits and pieces of it all over the place and crowds of people, « he said.
