Earlier this month, the Philadelphia Eagles waived veteran running back Kerryon Johnson with an injury label.

The Eagles demanded waivers from Johnson in May after he was released by the Detroit Lions. Johnson, a 2018 Lions second round pick, had a knee injury for most of the camp and was recently listed as « week after week. »

The Eagles eventually placed Johnson in the injured reserve. On Thursday afternoon, however, the team made a new decision on the former Auburn running back.

According to a report from ESPN’s Field Yates, the Eagles waived Johnson from the injured reservation with a claims settlement. As a result, he can sign with a new team once he’s healthy.

The Eagles have ditched IR’s RB Kerryon Johnson with an injury settlement. That opens the door for Johnson to sign another move once he’s recovered.

In 34 games – of which he started 16 – with the Lions, Johnson stormed for 1,225 yards and eight touchdowns on 283 carries. The former Auburn star added 61 receptions for 527 yards and three scores.

He’s had fits of being a legitimate NFL running back, but injuries have hampered his career so far. Injuries were again an issue for the former college star during camp this summer.

However, he’s only 24 years old and will likely have another opportunity to show what he’s capable of in the near future.
