CM – Emergency assistance after a boy was attacked by a shark at a WA tourist hotspot


A boy was attacked by a shark in a popular Western Australian tourist spot, leading to an investigation.

Emergency services were called to Five Finger Reef south of Coral Bay in the Shire at around 11:15 am on Friday after reports of a shark attack Carnarvon called.

The boy, whose age is not known, was first treated at the Coral Bay Nursing Post.

He is now being flown to Jandakot Airport by the Royal Flying Doctor Service and then to Perth for further treatment Children’s Hospital Relocated.

Particular caution is recommended in Coral Bay and beach closings recommended by local rangers, parks, and Wildlife of Surf Life Saving WA.

Coral Bay is located in Gascoyne region in Western Australia and is a gateway to the Ningaloo Reef.
