Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress is just around the corner in West Bengal, where BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari’s lead over Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram has fallen by over 3,700 votes. In Tamil Nadu, the opposition DMK is way ahead in their respective places with 69 percent of the MLAs in the DMK-led alliance, while the BJP is the leader in Assam. AINRC boss N Rangaswamy is now a leader in Puducherry.

The counting of votes for the polls of the Assam, Bengal, Kerala, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu congregations, which took place between March 27th and April 29th, began at 8 a.m. this morning amid a violent second wave of Covid in the country, fears the process could lead to a major spike. According to the electoral commission, the votes are counted in 2,364 counting halls according to the COVID-19 protocols.
