Heavy metal bassist Rayna Foss of ’90s nu metal band Coal Chamber has been reported missing for several months. Recently, a September missing person report went viral showing that Foss was missing in a group home in New Orleans in September. In addition to a black and white photo of the musician and a description of her appearance, the NOPD is asked to provide information on Foss’ whereabouts.
Foss was the founding bassist of Coal Chamber, along with founding members Dez Fafara (vocals) and Meegs Rascón ( Guitar) and second drummer Mike Coz. The band was formed in 1994 and released three critically acclaimed albums: their self-titled 1997 debut, Chamber Music (1999) and Dark Days (2002). The group disbanded in 2003 after reported interpersonal problems among members. This allegedly included Foss falling out with Fafara after she and her then-husband, Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose, « found Christ. » It is also reported that she wanted to spend time raising the former couple’s daughter, Kayla Moray Rose, born October 5, 1999.
MISSING: Rayna Foss, 51, was last born on September 7, according to NOPD seen by a group home manager.

In a rare interview shared by Loudwire, Foss related how she first came into contact with Coal Chamber in the mid-1990s. « I’ve danced all my life and before that I was a dance teacher. I never planned to be a bass player in a band, » she said. « I was at a party and I was kind of bored and I saw this thing in a closet and it looked like a guitar and I was like, ‘Is that a guitar?’ And [my friend] said, ‘That’s a bass guitar .. . you can take a look at it. ‘ And it was like fooling around, I didn’t know what I was doing. He said, ‘I never play it, you can have it.’ And that was about six months before I joined the band. «
Foss recalled, » So I took it home and played around with it. I worked with Dez’s ex-wife and when she was after one Looking for a new bass player, she said to Dez, ‘I have a friend at work who plays bass,’ and I really didn’t. So he called … said to come over and audition. So I said, ‘f- it ‘and did it and I got it. Eight days later I played my first show. « At this point, the other members of the coal chamber seem to have made no comment on the disappearance of Foss.
