CM – India plans to move some migrant workers to army camps in occupied Kashmir after killings

Vulnerable Indian migrant workers in occupied Kashmir are being taken to army and police camps for protection after several fighters were killed by fighters, the region’s police chief said on Sunday.

Vijay Kumar said he had instructed his officers to Workers relocated after three workers from the eastern state of Bihar were shot dead in their rented apartment on Sunday, two of whom died.

It was initially unclear how many of the tens of thousands of Indians from other states work in occupied Kashmir , would be affected, whether they would be locked up in the camps or whether the instructions were mandatory.

No one has so far been held responsible for the murders on Sunday or for an incident the day before in which two other migrant workers were shot.

Indian-occupied Kashmir is witness to a decade-long armed uprising that has only spread against migrant workers in the past few weeks.
