CM – Jason Day won’t play a Sectional Qualifier if he’s not in the US Open Field


The former number 1 in the world has to assert himself in the top 60 of the world rankings at his next starts, otherwise he will not be at the US Open next month. He said on Wednesday that he will not play the 36-hole qualifier on June 7th due to sponsorship.

After making the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship – his sixth consecutive event without a top 10 – Missed, Day fell from 59th to 62nd in the world rankings. The top 60 after the PGA Championship and The Memorial (June 3-6) next week will automatically qualify for the US Open.
