The 46-year-old actor stepped out for the New York Film Festival Tuesday with a short buzz in the middle of his head, and the side panels stayed long and gray.
While Phoenix shook his head during a Q&A for his coming Covering the movie « C’mon C’mon » with a black hat, he revealed the uneven cut while walking the red carpet in an Animal Liberation Front hoodie sweatshirt.
In the black and white film embarks a radio journalist named Johnny (Phoenix) with his young nephew (Woody Norman) on a trip across the country. Gaby Hoffmann plays Johnny’s sister Viv in the November 19th film.
However, it is another film that is responsible for the bizarre buzzcut. Phoenix shaved his head for his role on Disappointment Blvd. – and apparently let it grow for different lengths of time.
While not many details of the film directed by Ari Aster are known at the time, Phoenix is starring in the horror comedy about « one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time », according to IMDB.
