CM – Jockey Blackmore has an operation on his broken ankle after falling from a horse

National heroine Rachael Blackmore underwent ankle surgery after falling on Friday.

The 32-year-old fell from the popular Merry Poppins at Killarney races on Friday afternoon and was sent to Tralee Hospital on the track.

« Rachael Blackmore sustained a broken ankle and hip injury after her fall in Killarney on Friday evening, » said the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB).

On Friday, the last day of the Killarney- Meetings, already won two races.

Blackmore made Grand National history by becoming the first female jockey to win the race by driving the Minella Times across the finish line in Aintree in April.

In March, she became the first woman to be crowned leading jockey at the Cheltenham Festival.
