Skier Scott Kneller has been elected Chair of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) Athletes ‘Commission, with four-time Olympic Swimming Champion Cate Campbell elected as Vice-Chair.
The new appointments were made at today’s first meeting of the Athletes’ Commission confirmed after the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics concluded last month.
Five new members were elected last month during Tokyo 2020, and today the reshaped commission voted for its new chairman and vice chairman, replacing pole vaulter Steve Hooker and the rower Kim Brennan, whose terms of office had expired.
Kneller represented Australia in ski cross at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Sochi, respectively.

His appointment will lead the commission until the end of the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing next year, when he will also leave the commission with new winter athletes to be elected.

Campbell won an Olympic gold medal in the 4×100 meter freestyle in London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 .
At Tokyo 2020 she was also a member of Australia’s 4x100m medley, which won the gold medal.
Campbell stood for election to the Athletes’ Commission of the International Olympic Committee in Tokyo 2020, but was unable to find any of the four available places win.
