CM – Kyrgios from Sydney, no open advance

Nick Kyrgios appears dubious for the Australian Open after retiring from the Sydney Tennis Classics, his second tournament retreat in a week.

Kyrgios was due to play against Italian arsonist Fabio Fognini on Monday night, but his withdrawal was announced on the list of tournament participants.

The 26-year-old previously withdrew from the Melbourne Summer Set with asthma and, if he is at the Australian Open, will have been playing without competition since September.
