A man was charged with the death of a 51-year-old man who was stabbed in the neck in a shopping mall in northern Queensland on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the Cairns Central shopping mall at around 8 a.m. where a man was stabbed in the neck.

Detective Inspector Kevin Goan said the 51-year-old victim, who was known within the center, died about 20 minutes later.
He was then charged with murder and will appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on Thursday.
