CM – Man on remand after a prison break

A 35-year-old man is on remand this morning after an alleged escape from Risdon Prison.

Police, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, were deployed after a man left prison at around 9:05 a.m. from Risdon.

The man was found about 20 minutes later near the Jordan River Bridge at Gagebrook on the East Derwent Highway.

The man was arrested after a vehicle he was traveling in , was successfully spammed by the police.

Anyone who has information or dashcam footage of a white Ford Ranger E10CV that drives irregularly on the east coast should contact the police at 131444 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 1800333000 or report to Crimestopperstas.com.au
