Manny Pacquiao has officially announced that he will run for president in the 2022 Philippine elections.
The Associated Press has reported that the 42-year-old boxer is proposing his PDP Laban party nomination to the national congress this weekend has accepted. In his acceptance speech, he said, “I am a fighter and I will always be a fighter in and out of the ring. We need the government to serve our people with integrity, compassion and transparency. ”He continues,“ In my entire life I have not withdrawn from a fight. Because in the name of the principle, the pride of the nation, I stand strong and strong. I accept your nomination as a candidate for President of the Republic of the Philippines. ”
Pacquiao later took to Twitter to solicit the support of his community and support the athlete as the next candidate for a change in the country. The announcement comes just under a month after the boxer’s unanimous defeat by Yordenis Ugas. It is uncertain whether this was his last fight in the boxing ring.
