Marcelo Bielsa has assured Leeds fans that there will be no problem between him and Kalvin Phillips after the English midfielder was substituted on Saturday’s draw in Brighton. </ Bielsa said Phillips' status as a Leeds "Idol" was "fully deserved" and insisted that his decision to replace him at halftime was for the good of the team.

« That doesn’t mean I’m right but I did what I thought was best, « said Bielsa.

Bielsa responded by saying Phillips earned his status among Leeds fans and everyone at the club is committed to maintaining that relationship.


« Kalvin Phillips is an idol for the Leeds United fans, he is a loved and affectionate property and we all have a duty to take care of the feeling that unites a fan with a team, » added Bielsa
