Spa-Francorchamps: Mick Schumacher is enjoying making his Formula 1 bow at the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend, 30 years after his father started his legendary career on the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
In 1991, Michael Schumacher was called up for his first Formula 1 drive by Jordan instead of the French driver Bertrand Gachot, who was otherwise serving a prison sentence for assault.
As seventh in qualifying, he was eliminated on the first lap, the first hesitant step in a career that was to bring 91 race wins and seven drivers’s world championship titles.
