As the NBA season draws to a close, the popular video game franchise NBA 2K has started rolling out its upcoming game. NBA 2K unveiled its cover athletes for NBA 2K22 in five different versions, and now the creators of the game are announcing more big news.
On Friday, July 23rd, NBA 2K unveiled the next game’s career mode, The City , with a whole host of new features. The focus is on the extensive role-playing mechanics that include the chance for players to pursue a side career in order to fulfill their NBA dreams.
According to a report by ScreenRant, one of those part-time players is a rapper. Basketball and hip hop go hand in hand, and rappers and ball players love to step into each other’s worlds. It’s unclear how hip-hop side careers will play out in the new game, but players’ success will impact their roles in The City.
Fans of NBA 2K have expressed their frustration over the Game hasn’t changed in the past few years, and the company has tried to meet their needs. Hopefully the new side careers can add some spice to the annual basketball video game.
In February, NBA 2K and United Masters launched the second season of their music competition 2K Beats: The Search, where artists from all over the world submit their music for the Next Generation Soundtrack to be unveiled by NBA 2K21.
