CM – Nepal-China Border Studies Committee presents report

KATHMANDU; – The Nepal-China Border Study Committee, formed to investigate issues related to the Nepal-China border from Limi Lapcha to Hilsa in Humla District, has forwarded its report to Interior Minister Balkrishna Khand.

The committee’s coordinator, including Deputy Home Secretary Jay Narayan Acharya, presented the report on Sunday.

Upon receipt of the report, Minister Khand promised to make efforts to implement the report, which was followed by on-site visits to the disputed border areas and after investigations into the border was created. “The report paved the way for exploring border areas in other parts of the country. The government will endeavor to enforce the issues raised in the report, « he added.

Khand thanked the committee members for accomplishing the task of reaching such remote locations and believed the report was important in getting around Nepal’s territory Limi Lapcha and Hilsa to protect and understand the people and geographical conditions in these places.

On this occasion, Deputy Secretary of State Acharya assessed the minister on the report, his conclusions and recommendations. The committee consists of the Deputy Director General of the Investigation Department Sushil Dangol, the SSP of the Nepalese Police Umeshraj Joshi, the SSP of the Armed Police Pradeep Kumar Pal and the Deputy Director of Investigation of the National Investigation Department, Ashok Kumar Shrestha.
