Netflix showrunner The Umbrella Academy, Steve Blackman, announced on Instagram that the upcoming third season of the hugely popular superhero series has completed filming on a set video of the returning lead characters.
The video shows Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, David Castañeda, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore playing the members of the dysfunctional Hargreeves family who herald the end of season three. « I don’t think the world is ready for it, » says Raver-Lampman in the video. « I think it’s our best season yet. »
Based on the comic series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, the third season of The Umbrella Academy focuses on The Umbrella Academy versus The Sparrow Academy after the dysfunctional one Family in 1963 changed the future to prevent the end of the world – and accidentally created an alternate timeline. Sparrow Academy is directed by Ben, played by Justin H. Min, one of the original Umbrella Academy members who died at a young age.
In the upcoming season, newcomers Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Genesis will be Rodriguez and Cazzie David appear as The Sparrow Academy alongside recurring stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castaneda, Aidan Gallagher and Colm Feore. There is currently no release date for the current season.
