TENERIFE, Spain – Nicolai von Dellingshausen from Germany took over the Tenerife Open with three shots after finishing the best 62 of his career in the second round on Friday.
Von Dellingshausen carded a 9-under round on the Costa Costa Adeje golf course in the Canary Islands. He made seven birdies to walk a bogey before winging the par-5 18th hole with a 20-foot putt from the edge.
« I don’t know if it’s the course, but I do worked a lot harder to stay in the present and that is one of my greatest accomplishments, « he said. « I’m a thinker, so I like to be more in the future or in the past. It’s a big challenge to stay in the present moment. I’ve done a lot better in the past two days. »
Scott Jamieson , who set a course record of 61, is four shots back along with Scott Hend, Eduard Rousaud and Kalle Samooja.
