CM – NSW police officer seriously injured after brazen beatings and escapes after a “stolen” chase


A police officer sustained serious head injuries in the Snowy Mountains region of southern New South Wales after being hit by a car.

The constable was chasing a stolen ute on the Monaro Highway near Nimmitabel on Monday evening, about 10 km outside of Cooma.

The police said the ute then stopped, the driver got out and started running.

The policeman has severe head injuries and was treated on the spot before he moved to a stable State flown to Canberra Hospital.

A crime scene was set up when Monaro Police District officials began investigating the crash.
