Nigeria’s ambition to have Victor Osimhen lead the Super Eagles attack against Liberia in Morocco on November 11th is pending as the striker has suffered an injury setback.
Now Osimhen became Napoli’s streak today A duel with promoted Salernitana ruled out and will probably not return for a fortnight.
Napoli sources indicated that the former LOSC Lille striker is now likely to survive due to the muscle strain he had to deal with during training at the weekend the comeback of Dries Mertens will be replaced for the showdown on Sunday.
It remains to be seen whether he will be back in action in time for Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup qualification against Liberia and Cape Verde at the beginning of next month.
In this one Osimhen has scored nine goals in all competitions this season so far – 5 in Serie A and 4 in the UEFA Europa League.
