House spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi faces a smaller majority after swearing in newly elected MEP Jake Ellzey, a Republican from Texas, on Friday, leaving her little room for error when telling her faction on important issues Legislative issues united.
The inclusion of Ellzey in Congress allows Pelosi only three defectors as the Democrats try to continue key points on their agenda.
The wafer-thin majority tightening continues as the Democrats hope to pass two significant infrastructure bills to be passed if they make it through the upper chamber.
Biden said Sunday it « remains to be seen » whether the language will make it into comprehensive legislation.
While the Senate has struggled to reach consensus on the infrastructure, discrepancies have already arisen within the party about which language should be included in a law of reconciliation and a path to citizenship is not included in a larger package. </ The numbers could shift again during the 117th Congress, with special elections in the 11th Ohio Congressional District, the 15th Ohio Congressional District and the 20th.
Ellzey succeeded in winning Trump-backed candidate Susan Wright who Widow of the late Congressman Ron Wright (R-Texas), ousted in the runoff election to represent the 6th Congressional District of Texas earlier this week.
