A police officer was injured Tuesday morning following a domestic violence incident in Sydney.
Police say officers visited a unit on Punt Road in Gladesville where they were allegedly confronted by a man with two knives .
Subsequently, he allegedly assaulted a 26-year-old police officer on probation who had sustained a head injury.
There was a police operation with officers and negotiators from the Tactical Operations Unit who were on site and a 38 -year-old man was taken into custody shortly after 12.30 p.m.
