Novak Djokovic, number one tennis player in the men’s world, has had a difficult week after he was denied entry to Australia for the Australian Open.
For the past few days he has been in an immigration detention center while waiting for a hearing on whether to enter the country or be deported.
The story hit the headlines when Conservative Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said Djokovic had failed to provide sufficient evidence of medical exemption of the vaccination that would allow him to enter.
The incident has turned into a diplomatic skirmish. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said Djokovic was being ill-treated by Australian authorities.
