Radiohead’s Kid A is one of those groundbreaking records that divides the pop music industry into different eras: There is before and after Kid A.

After the success of their legendary album « OK Computer », Radiohead decided to take a completely new direction and create something rich, strange, sad and absolutely original. The term « unique » is overused in music reviews – there are a lot of great albums out there that don’t go out of style – but Kid A is just that, a fresh start not just for the band but for anyone who would try to imitate them at some point .

For this reason, any opportunity to immerse yourself in Kid A’s nostalgia is welcome. For this reason, Radiohead fans should prepare – this Friday we’re getting a brand new reissue of the album, complete with unreleased tracks.

The reissue, called Kid A MNESIA, is a mix of Kid A cuts and Amnesiac songs. It’s kind of a bridging maneuver, a way of combining the twin universes of two of their most popular releases.

Filled with alternate takes and cuts, this isn’t a mere repetition of the past. There are new versions of “The Morning Bell”, “Like Spinning Plates” and “Fog” as well as a stringent cut of what is probably the greatest Radiohead song of all time, the deeply melancholy “How To Disappear Completely”.

Oh, and there’s fresh material too, including the never-before-heard “If You Say the Word,” taken from the Kid A recording sessions, as well as a new studio version of “Follow Me Around.”

Here you can “If You Say the Word “in full length. And you should. It’s a haunting reminder of Radiohead’s unique skills and a taste of a band that has never stood still. Round it up.
