CM – Rubio Rubin doubles Salt Lake City lead in the Rocky Mountain Cup – KSL Sports

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake doubled their lead against Colorado Rapids in the 56th minute when Rubio Rubin scored a beautiful one-touch finish after an assist from Damir Kreilach.

Assist was as special as the goal as Kreilach perfectly weighted the pass behind the Rapids backline on the sliding feet of Rubin, who chose to hit the shot with his first touch.

Real Salt Lake opened in the 13th .Minute the goal when Kreilach put an Aaron Herrera cross into the end. Kreilach’s opening goal was the fifth game in a row to score, while Rubin scored his first goal since September 15, when he scored a brace in the 4-3 win over San Jose.

With a win Real Salt Lake will win the Rocky Mountain Cup and further consolidate its playoff position with only five games left in the regular season. However, the gap between Real Salt Lake and the eighth place LAFC is only five points.

Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids will be broadcast live on KSL Sports & KSL 5 TV apps or on KSL Sports dot com.
