Russell Westbrook has been just amazing the past few weeks. Tonight he engraved his name in the history book and sealed a victory for his Washington Wizards.

After a disastrous start to the season, the Wizards rushed back to the playoffs. Led by Westbrook and Bradley Beal, they finished ninth in the Eastern Conference at 32:36 and jumped head-to-head against the Indiana Pacers.

They needed heroic performances from their two stars to do this to reach. One of the NBA’s most talented goalscorers, Beal, fell by 50 in just 31 shots. Westbrook threw in another triple double that really jumps off the side: 33 points, 19 rebounds and 15 assists.

It was his second though of two blocks that saved the game for the wizards. In the final moments of extra time, Westbrook knocked down two free throws to improve the team by one point and knocked out a 29-foot run from Caris LeVert that secured a 133-132 win.

That moment comes at the end of a historic night for Westbrook and the NBA. With his triple-double he connects the legendary Oscar Robertson by accomplishing this feat for the 181th time in his career.

At 32 years old, The Brodie will erase this record as he has so many others when it comes to that Triple-double goes.

Russell Westbrook has already averaged a triple-double for the entire season, the fourth time he has accomplished this feat. On Monday night he has the chance to finish the triple-double # 182 for his career and take the all-time lead alone.

The Wizards are hopeful in the Atlanta Hawks playoffs. The tip for the game on Monday is 7:30 p.m. ET.
