MELBOURNE: Australia has Sydney FC, Melbourne City and Brisbane Roar out of the Asian Champions League 2021 withdrawn, said the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on Friday.

« The matter will now be referred to the relevant AFC committees, with a decision being communicated in due course, » the AFC said in a statement.

The AFC did not give a reason for the deductions, but Australia’s top division A-League announced on Friday that it had changed its schedule due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the southern state of Victoria.
