The Crew 2 mission will carry four astronauts in the second routine taxi ride from SpaceX to the ISS since the US resumed manned spaceflight, and the first with a European

A manned SpaceX mission to International Space Station was postponed due to bad weather. The launch was scheduled for Thursday (April 22nd) but will now be on Friday (April 23rd) at 0949 GMT.

« For crewed missions we need to look down to make sure the weather is for a possible escape before take-off and is good for the restoration of the crew, « Acting NASA Administrator Steve Jurczyk told reporters.

The Crew 2 mission will transport four astronauts in the second routine taxi ride from SpaceX to the ISS, since the USA resumed manned spaceflight, and the first with a European.

Next up are the US astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Megan McArthur, Akihiko Hoshide from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the French Thomas Pesquet from of the European Space Agency (ESA).

The mission is remarkable as it relies initially on a previously deployed booster and capsule that were also previously used

« (It is) to really help us , realizing the full potential and realizing the dreams we had when we started this effort with SpaceX about 10 years ago, « Tom Simon, NASA Certification Manager for SpaceX, told AFP.

The immediate goal NASA is to be able to reuse booster rockets at least five times for human space flights.
