It seems like a big surprise that for lack of better wording, Juventus President Andrea Agnelli stabbed UEFA in the back with its decision to withdraw from the ECA and help build the European Super League has.
After all, he is the nephew of Gianni Agnelli, the so-called « Rake of the Riviera », who did not refuse to piss off almost anyone who got what he wanted in the 1950s and 60s.
Andrea also clearly angered the workers in the FIAT factory when Juve signed Cristiano Ronaldo, given the sums and the refusal at the time to raise workers’ salaries. In fact, according to The Independent, the workers were on strike at the time.
What is wonderfully interesting about this move is that UEFA President Aleksandr Ceferin is the godfather of Agnelli’s daughter and is working with UEFA on her own plans to overhaul the Champions League To think that not long ago Agnelli tried to build a friendship with the UEFA President, whom he effectively stabbed with this move.
