A brave police officer was spotted rescuing two children from a huge fire that broke out in a London train station on Monday. Dramatic footage shows the police officer carrying the two children – one in each arm – after The Sun said a large fireball broke out under Elephant and Castle train station.

At its peak, around 100 firefighters were dispatched to the fire combat in three commercial units under railway arches at the station. Shocking videos shared on social media show thick clouds of black smoke rising from the area of ​​south London where the explosion took place.

The fire broke out near the Elephant and Castle shopping center, but the exact cause is unknown. The Metropolitan Police said it was not believed to be linked to terrorism, the Daily Mail reports.

Six people were treated on site by paramedics, one was hospitalized after the fire. The London Fire Brigade used ten fire engines to fight the flames and urged people to avoid the area. Residents were also advised to keep the windows closed to avoid inhaling smoke.
