HYDERABAD: The Minister of Local Government and Urban Development (MAUD), KT Rama Rao, assured the state government that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) is in introducing modern and proven technologies Procedures for the management of fecal sludge (septage) will provide the necessary support.
“We work for a clean Hyderabad by implementing innovative ideas. We had decided in the past to end manual cleaning in the city and asked for new experiments in the field of wastewater management, « said the minister after deregistering the Dial-A-Septic tank cleaning vehicles and the virtual inauguration of the faeces sludge treatment plant (FSTP ) at Nalla Cheruvu in Uppal. To end manual flushing in the greater Hyderabad area, 130 mini-jetting machines have been introduced and are working successfully. Another 89 mini-jetting machines are used in 25 municipal authorities for sepage management.
Water Board sets tariff for Dial-A-Septic Tank
HMWS&SB has set the tariff for the use of the Dial-A-Septic tank cleaning vehicles. The tariff structure for blowdown services was introduced in consultation with the operators. This tariff regime is intended to protect the interests of the poor with the aim of cross-subsidizing, reducing the burden on the slum dwellers and the poor and at the same time ensuring the profitability of desludging activities. Citizens can use the facility by calling 155313 or 14420. A centralized booking and real-time monitoring system has been set up to answer and process calls from citizens.
