NEW-DELHI: Director of the film ?? ‘Shashank’ has denied in the Delhi Supreme Court that the film is based on the life of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, saying the story depicts the struggle of outsiders in the industry.

The filmmaker claimed that the name of the film Shashank and Sushant Singh Rajput is so different, and the story of the film is based on four people fighting and fighting against nepotism in the Mumbai film industry, so there is no comparison between the two.

Director Sanoj Mishra filed the statements in an affidavit filed in response to a lawsuit by Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh who tried to prevent someone from using their son’s name or likeness in films / p> Some of the upcoming or proposed film projects based on Rajput’s life mentioned in the plea are: « Nyay: Di e Justice « , » Suicide or Murder: A Star Was Lost « , » Shashank « and an undisclosed crowd-funded film.

The Supreme Court on April 20th asked the producers of these proposed and upcoming films to respond to the request, and the matter up for a hearing on May 24th

In his response filed by Attorney AP Singh, the director also addressed the issue of the territorial jurisdiction of the Delhi Supreme Court to bring the lawsuit.

He said Singh was in Bihar resident and the FIR regarding the actor’s death has also been filed there, while other pending cases are in Mumbai and even the addresses of the defendants are in Maharashtra and the jurisdiction of the Delhi Supreme Court for the maintenance The lawsuit was not brought.

The film of Defendant No. 7 (Mishra) ‘Shashank’ is based solely on the depiction of the struggle of outsiders in Bollywood.

The director vehemently denied that his film was based on the life of Singh’s son and asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit.

The lawsuit, filed by attorneys Akshay Dev, Varun Singh, Abhijeet Pandey, and Samruddhi Bendbhar, said that the defendants (filmmakers) who took advantage of this situation tried to use this opportunity for ulterior motives.

 » As a result, Plaintiff (Singh) fears that various plays, films, web series, books, interviews or other material could be published that would damage the reputation of the Plaintiff’s son and his family, « the lawsuit alleged damages of over Rs 2 cr ores by the filmmakers for « loss of reputation, mental trauma and harassment » for Rajput’s family.
