Newmont Australia’s Tanami gold mine is at the center of the Covid-19 outbreak in the Top End, and site workers have been locked down.

Workers and their families have raised concerns about locked living conditions, which have been reported as cramped, with little natural light and no basic amenities to wash their clothes. </ In an exclusive interview, Adam Steer of ABC Radio Darwin spoke with Alex Bates, Regional Senior Vice President of Newmont Australia, about the living conditions of the miners and what would be done to help them and their families.
