Leona Maguire won the rookies fight on the final day of Solheim Cup action when the Cavan golfer defeated American Jennifer Kupcho 5&4 in the singles.
Europe went into the final by a narrow 9-7 Day of action, but Maguire got the first point on the board when her early win put her team up three places.
Maguire is the only competitor to have done all five rounds and leaves Toldeo, Ohio with four and a half points out of five games on her debut in the competition.
The 26-year-old told Sky Sports, « The goal was to get my point across, that’s all I can do.
» I’ve got all of them Week I gave my absolute, I couldn’t have given more. I couldn’t have wished for a better week and hopefully the girls can finish it. ”
Maguire’s sensational start on the first nine gave the unbeaten Kupcho no chance.
She went four up through just seven holes after scoring an eagle on the second and birdies on the fourth, sixth and seventh.
