A local news station apologized after accidentally airing pornography during a live news broadcast that evening.
Spokane, Washington-based news station KREM aired during one on Sunday, October 17th Broadcast a pornographic clip at 6 p.m. The video was played over the right shoulder of meteorologist Michelle Boss when she gave a weather update on the BCS-related broadcaster. The explicit content aired on the presenter’s back for at least 13 seconds as neither she nor her report co-presenter, Cody Proctor, responded to the clip before the screen was cut for further weather coverage.
KREM apologized later that evening on its 11 p.m. broadcast for the incident, Adweek reported. « Those of us here at KREM 2 would like to apologize for something that happened on our news program at 6pm tonight, » said a statement from the broadcaster. “An inappropriate video was broadcast in the first part of the show. We’re working hard to keep it from happening again. ”
The clip sparked numerous phone calls from concerned citizens across the country, and the incident is currently being investigated by Spokane Police. « The Spokane Police Department’s Special Victims Unit responded to a local news agency on Sunday evening after a disturbing picture / video appeared on viewers’ screens during the station’s weather report, » said a press release.
