LONDON: Tottenham signed Atalanta’s center-back Cristian Romero two weeks after signing goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from the same Italian club.
Details including the length of the 23-year-old defender’s contract this summer made his debut in Argentina, the English Premier League club did not announce.
Romero won the « Best Defender » award in Serie A last season and was an outstanding player at the Copa America, leading Argentina to Winning the tournament helped.
The 32-year-old center-back, who played six seasons in North London, signed for Al-Duhail in Qatar last month.
The 34-year-old Frenchman has been since the 2012 season / 13 at Tottenham, but his contract expires in June.
