CM – ViacomCBS and APL strike Landmark A-League and W-League deal – Department of Sport

ViacomCBS, owned by Network Ten and its streaming subsidiary Paramount, and the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) have announced a five-year deal worth $ 200 million that will see the A-League's first commercial free-to-play Air television was broadcasting time.

The deal guarantees one Saturday night game per week on Ten’s main channel. The remaining games will be available behind a paywall on Paramount, which is aiming for the second largest streaming service in Australia after Netflix.

The W-League section of the deal includes the Sunday afternoon games, which will be broadcast on Ten’s secondary channel 10Bold.

Rumor has it that ViacomCBS’s deal was much more suitable for the APL than Nine and Stan Sports.

ViacomCBS has acquired a 2.5% stake in the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) , which overtook both Football Australia competitions last December.

Die Network 10 and Paramount will begin broadcasting next season of the A-League and W-League. There is no comment yet on any commentators or experts who have signed up.
