Milwaukee Brewers Suffer 7-2 Loss to Toronto Blue Jays

The Milwaukee Brewers suffered a 7-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre. The Brewers started strong, with William Contreras hitting his sixth homer of the season to give them a two-run lead in the first inning. However, the Blue Jays quickly turned the game around, scoring seven unanswered runs, with Milwaukee starter Adrian Houser allowing four runs in the bottom of the first. Despite having several baserunners, the Brewers were unable to turn them into runs, managing just four hits in the loss.

Offensive Struggles Continue for Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee’s ongoing offensive struggles were compounded by Houser’s first clunker of the season. After delivering back-to-back scoreless outings in his prior two starts, Houser allowed seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings. The Brewers’ depth continues to be tested, with outfielder Jesse Winker placed on the IL prior to the series opener with a cervical strain, bringing the number of Milwaukee players on the injured list to 12. Despite flashes of consistency, the Brewers need to find ways to keep the line moving and turn their baserunners into runs.

William Contreras Provides a Spark for Milwaukee Brewers

William Contreras was a bright spot for the Brewers, hitting his second homer in as many games and working a pair of walks. Manager Craig Counsell praised Contreras’ consistency and his ability to deliver against left-handers. As the Brewers work their way back to consistency, they will need more of what Contreras has provided. However, the team must find ways to turn their baserunners into runs and overcome their ongoing offensive struggles. With a wave of injuries and some bad luck, the Brewers will need to stay focused and work hard to turn their season around.
