A concert by around 1200 people, most of whom do not wear masks, at a venue in Sydney sparked outrage.

The Human Nature concert took place on Saturday at the Coliseum Theater, a venue in Rooty Hill in western Sydney.

A photo taken in the auditorium and posted on Twitter shows a crowd of older concert-goers sitting next to each other.

The tweet was retweeted by Jodie McKay, NSW opposition leader. She commented: “No social distancing, very few masks and a mostly older audience. « .

The original Twitter poster @kate_cole_ wrote, “This photo was taken at the @ sydneycoliseum theater last night.

« I understand that new rules only came into effect at midnight last night . . . but COVID does not follow public health orders. ”

The 2000-seat Colosseum was operated under the NSW Health Large Venue Rule with a 75 percent capacity, which means it can hold 1500 people.

Twitter user @drvyom tweeted, “I’ve heard that venues are reducing capacity but then clustering all attendees, defeating the purpose of reducing event capacity. Is this happening here? I’m not sure of the requirements for the COVID safety plan. ”

However, a spokesman for West Headquarters, owner and operator of the theater, reported news. com. Au that 1,350 tickets were sold but only 1200 people showed up, with 150 requesting refunds.
