After a pretty impressive 2020 season, the world no. 2 Simona Halep shared a little film about herself. She posted the film with documentary on Twitter, which had different phases in her life.
In the video, Halep talked at length about her hernias and how she dealt with them. They started performing as a teenager and added problems to her.
« I had my first previous issue when I was 17 and they told me I was the youngest patient with a herniated disc. I have about 4 hernias. They are not easy to use, ”said a strong Halep.
For fans who are unaware of this, hernia is the medical condition in which an organ or tissue bulges through an abnormal opening. It takes constant effort to treat the same thing.
« I’ve been training daily since 2008. I had to strengthen the muscles next to my spine really well to keep my discs in alignment, ”added the Romanian player.
While addressing her hernia problem, Halep also said that everyone suffers from some kind of pain and how it affected a person.
« We are in constant pain. It’s really tough because the pain goes straight to the brain. It’s like stabbing you in the back, the heart, the head, I don’t know, ”continued the two-time Grand Slam winner.
« I remember that at some point Nadal said: If it doesn’t hurt, something is wrong, » admitted World No.. 2.
Despite all the pain, Simona Halep has played brilliantly in the last two to three seasons. She will definitely want to keep up her momentum and keep an eye on the Australian Open 2021 title.
