Weltnachrichten – CA – RCMP warn of large gatherings including the Steinbach service

. .

The Manitoba RCMP does not recommend attending any large gathering that is currently in conflict with current public health regulations, including Sunday morning worship at Church of God near Steinbach.

In the meantime, the Church of God announced on its Facebook page on Saturday that it would continue the service, even though it is now a car service.

According to public health regulations, entry into church services is prohibited, even if parishioners remain in their vehicles at all times. Gatherings of more than five people in public places outdoors or indoors are prohibited.

« Our goal is certainly not to distribute a few tickets, » said RCMP Steinbach Detachment Commander S / Sgt Harold Laninga in a press release. “We want everyone not to come to a big meeting at all. It is important to us that all citizens know what the current instructions are so that they can follow them. As always, our ultimate goal is to keep everyone safe and in these unprecedented times that means staying home. ”

The fines for public health regulation violations have been reduced to Jan.. $ 296 for tickets issued to individuals and to 5. $ 000 for corporate-issued tickets. There’s also a new $ 298 fine for not wearing a mask in indoor public places.

« Last night the Manitoba government ruled drive-in services illegal, » the church’s Facebook post read. “This service is being held in protest against these tyrannical edicts.

“(Sunday) Tomorrow we have the safest parking lot in Manitoba. Keep your windows up and stay in your vehicles. This won’t compare to the parking lots at Costco, Walmart, and the state liquor stores where people are free to chat. Make no mistake, this is not about a virus. ”

Springs Church, Lagimodiere, Winnipeg also plans to hold car services on Sunday mornings in conjunction with its online services. « Feel free to use our parking lot and watch as I deliver this news, » Pastor Leon Fontaine said in a video posted on the Church’s Facebook page. “You will all be watching individually with your families in your own vehicles and safely watching the service from your car while I preach the word. ”
